As the winter months and flu season fast close in on us, the Beat Flu Team is once again launching its campaign to encourage people to get in touch with their GP surgeries and arrange a flu jab. Every winter in the UK thousands of people are affected by illnesses brought on by flu, with 170,000 people in Wales suffering, especially those within the at-risk groups who are more likely to contract the illness and suffer badly as a consequence.
Plaid MP secures support from leading Welsh charities to fix flawed cold weather payment scheme
Plaid Cymru Member of Parliament for Arfon, Hywel Williams will today (Tuesday 16.10.18) introduce a Private Members Bill in the House of Commons which seeks to redress flaws in the Government’s Cold Weather Payment system, denying vulnerable people in his Arfon constituency cash support during periods of prolonged cold weather.

Calls to overhaul business rate relief scheme to help small businesses in Arfon

Following a visit to a farm near Rhostryfan in the Arfon Constituency, the Assembly Member for the area says the Welsh Government must offer urgent financial assistance to farmers facing difficulties in producing food for their animals. This follows this year’s extreme weather conditions that has limited crop and food-stock production.
