MS receives special recognition award

The awards were part of Black History Month celebrations

The North Wales Africa Society, based at Bangor African and Caribbean Centre, gave special recognition awards to individuals as part of their Black History Month celebrations. 

 

Siân Gwenllian MS was amongst individuals to receive recognition.

 

In partnership with Cyngor Gwynedd, Learning Links International, Africanation, and the Bangor Afro Caribbean Society (ACS Bangor), NWAS commemorated Black History Month with events at the City of Bangor Council Chamber.

 

The celebration of North Wales’ black heritage included the awards ceremony, a performance by a live band, and African cuisine. 

 

Awards were presented by the vice Chair of Cyngor Gwynedd Cllr. Elwyn Jones to individuals in recognition of their service.

 

The North Wales Africa Society (NWAS) award categories, nominees & winners were as follows:
