The Party of Wales Arfon Standing up for the people of Arfon

Siân Gwenllian MS represent the Arfon constituency in the Senedd and has reacted to the Scottish FM’s announcement that she is to stand down.

Nicola Sturgeon, who is also the leader of the SNP made a resignation statement at Bute House today.

Siân Gwenllian MS has reacted, talking of her “sadness” at the announcement:

“Today is an immensly sad day for Scotland and the rest of the UK.

“Nicola Sturgeon’s commitment to social justice is commendable, a commitment exemplified by radical policies such as the Scottish Child Payment, free university tuition, the pioneering baby boxes and 1,140 hours of free high quality childcare just to name a few.

“At times when trust in politics was in disarray, she was an embodiment of integrity, honesty and transparency.

“Those qualities shone through in her speech today.

“She has been a constant and reliable presence over the last few years, and an inspiration to women all over the world.

“Thank you Nicola.”
