The Party of Wales Arfon Standing up for the people of Arfon

Responding to the news from the Welsh Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Transport, Ken Skates, that the A487 Caernarfon and Bontnewydd Bypass will proceed, Siân Gwenllian AM for Arfon and Hywel Williams MP said

‘This is a resounding victory for Plaid Cymru Arfon’s long-running campaign to see that the A487 Caernarfon and Bontnewydd bypass goes ahead.’

‘Plaid Cymru have long campaigned to see this important development take place and today we welcome the long awaited statement from the Welsh Government.’

‘The new bypass will be a huge boost to both our national and local economies, will strengthen our infrastructure, and provide increased employment opportunities for our residents as well as bringing long term social benefits.’

‘I look forward now to seeing the project proceed and will be holding the Welsh Government to account to ensure that progress is completed by 2021 as promised.’

‘It’s vital this economically important local project can begin as soon as possible.’
